The cleaning that follows is not ordinary cleaning, and this is the point most people do not expect. After a body has been present for some time, fluids penetrate the floor covering, the subfloor and sometimes the structure below. The affected area is almost always larger than the visible stain. Restoring the property properly means removing contaminated material until only clean substrate remains, then decontaminating and sealing what is left.

Why Ordinary Cleaning Fails and the Odour Returns

Porous materials cannot be disinfected in place
Carpet, underlay, plasterboard, chipboard, particleboard, mattresses and untreated timber absorb fluid into their structure. Disinfectant applied to the surface does not reach what has soaked in. These materials must be cut out and disposed of as regulated waste. Sealed concrete, tile and treated hardwood can often be saved, and we always try to save what can be saved.
Odour treatments alone do not solve it
Odour treatments have a legitimate place at the end of a job. Used as a substitute for source removal, they simply suppress the smell temporarily. We apply them only after the contaminated material is gone.

Drying and sealing
We return the structure to a normal moisture content, which prevents mould developing in the weeks afterwards. Where timber or concrete has absorbed odour-carrying compounds, we apply a specialist sealer to lock in anything that cannot be removed.
Odour elimination and verification
